1 / What equipment do you use?
  • I I shoot on full frame Mirrorless cameras (top end have spent a few years building my equipment). I have Canon R5s and Canon Rs. I use a range of prime and zoom lenses.

  • For the geeks I often shoot on canon 50mm 1.2L, 85mm 1.2L, 35mm 1.8; 24mm 1.8; 70-200mm 2.8.

  • I often bring 2-3 cameras with me with flashes and tools to play with light. These lenses are particularly important to capturing dark venues/ churches where you often can't use a flash.

2 / How many weddings do you do a year?
  • I have been shooting weddings for 5 years now. I roughly do 6-8 weddings a year as I fit it around my family and other work! I also find that it means my love for weddings stay alive; I don't use any advertising and am a bit pants at social media- my weddings are usually on word of mouth and by recommendation (so thank you to all my couples!). That can mean I take a few days to reply working part time but I can respond on phone immediately in emergency and in the week leading up to your wedding!

3 / Can I see Full Wedding Albums?
  • You absolutely can have a look at a full wedding. They are a really good opportunity to see if work is consistent over a day- how I tell a story- through different settings and type of shots. Often photographers can just present their top work/ styled shoots which aren't always accurate. I will check permission with my couples always but am happy to share.

4 / What venues have you visited before? And are you open to visit ours beforehand!
  • I have visited a number of venues and working on updating a list to have posted here regularly. Feel free to ask me- I am definitely up for visiting venues to explore the best places. I am really experienced particularly in Churches where the low lighting, respectful nature and restrictions of flash are skills I have really developed!

5/ Will I be able to give you a shot list of specific ones we would like?
  • Yes! I would encourage you to explore my guide to wedding photography to help you think about the shots you would like. I am really happy to get as specific as you want to! A list can help me understand your priorities and ensure I have everything you need.

6 / Do I need to provide you with food?
  • You do not have to but that would be very nice! I usually shoot for very long days so a warm meal makes a big difference (venues often have supplier meals for this). If not, I will need to take a break to drive somewhere to get food.

7 / What time will you stay until?
  • Usually they are very long days so I try to have a balance between flexibility and protecting my boundaries. I will always stay for cake cut and a bit after first dance to get dancing shots. I usually go after that when I am confident I have the right shots but will only stay until the end if you have extended your hours/ have something like a sparkler walk out. Happy to discuss this all and the contract will be clear on when I start and end. I usually run £150/extra hour above the 10 hours in your package.

8/ What is your back up plan?
  • This is a very rare situation but when it does happen, I  have a local network of photographers I trustI who I would reach out to. I am also part of 2 emergency networks of photographers across the UK where you can post any last minute emergencies. This has only happened to me once and I sent my trusted friend and edited the whole album! I would always recommend you have wedding insurance to cover any last-minute disasters.

9 / Do you have insurance and public liability
  • Yes I do! I am insured with Hiscox to £2 million for public liability. I can share copies of this on request. I can extend this temporary if a particular venue needs this.

10 / I want to see my guests- will we have to spend time away from them?/ How long would our couple shoot be?
  • I will work with you to plan your timeline of the day for something you are happy with. I find couples want to hang out with all their frfiends and family who they have invited so I try to keep time with you to the minimum and mainly stay in the background. The key areas would be group shots and couples shots:

  • Group shots I recommend having a small list of 10 different groups which could take 20-30 minutes.

  • I would always recommend time to have some fun shots with the bridal party

  • For couple shots I would recommend 30-50 minutes. This will depend how many photos you would like to have. These are often the photos on postcards/ mantle pieces and can be a fun break in the day.

  • All of the above is optional! You only have to do what YOU want to do- I will work hard around it so you can enjoy the day.

11 / How much is the deposit and when do you need it by?
  • I require a 10% deposit to be paid to secure your date. I then ask for the full amount a month before your event date. (this is quite standard accross the sector). Although if you aren't comfortable with this please get in touch and I can see what I can do.

12/ How will you receive your photos?
  • I usually offer 600ish photos depending on your packages. There are a few options to recieve your photos:

  • Google Drive link to download

  • Online gallery link. This is shareable to all of your guests and password protected. They can share directly or download any photos they choose

  • USB drive- this is £8 extra

  • My only ask if you don't share with other vendors like flowers/ vendors without checking with me first as the photos are with a personal licence not for commercial use.

13/ Is Retouching included in the price?
  • I will do some basic retouching as part of my editing package. I share a sneak peak with you to test the editing style of the photo and make any adjustments you would like. Any editing requests after receiving the album I can give you a cost estimate depending on the editing needing. Eg combining photos and shots could cost you more.

14/ Is Retouching included in the price?
  • In off-peak season these will usually take me 4-6 weeks.

  • During peak wedding season (June-Sept) I estimate 6-8 weeks to edit.

  • I can do this faster for an extra fee

15/ Can we meet you before we decide?
  • You wedding day is quite an intimate time and it is really important you can trust and are comfortable with your photographer. I am really happy to meet online or in person before you make any commitments and always here for any questions!
